Claude is an AI assistant, and Skills are reusable instructions for a particular task. Abdul Osama (عبدول أسامة) explains that a Skill for company PDFs can spare you from describing their appearance every time. A PDF is a document format that preserves page layout when shared.
“Instead of explaining it every time, teach it once.” — Abdul Osama
What should the Skill contain?
If you regularly ask Claude to make PDFs for your company, specify the details you usually repeat:
- Your company’s font.
- Its color palette.
- Your preferred writing and visual style for reports.
- Paper size, such as A4, and portrait or landscape orientation.
The idea is to teach Claude these preferences once and use the Skill for later PDF requests. Abdul’s reason is practical: repeated explanations cost time, effort, and tokens. He also says there is a Skill in Claude specifically for creating Skills, but does not name it.
What to do next
Write down your company’s document specifications, use them to create a Skill, and test it on a PDF. Check the result and refine the instructions if the font, colors, or page layout are not what you wanted.
